Sue has more than 30 years experience working with young children. As an Early Educator and Assistive Technology Practitioner, she has a long history of successful grants with a common theme of increasing childhood participation using technology supports. Amy Goetz: Project Coordinator, MS, OTR/L

Amy's experiences as an occupational therapist include working with children from birth through eighteen years old in a variety of community, medical, and educational settings. Amy has earned her Master's degree in Occupational therapy with a concentration in pediatrics. Her research interests include family-centered service provision for families of children with special needs, play and assistive technology, and clinical outcome measures. Amy combines her experience in working with young children with disabilities and her knowledge of serving families in her work as the project coordinator of the Let's Play! Project.


Ellen Hamm, MS, OTR/L

Ellen has worked as a pediatric occupational therapist for the past 10 years. She is currently a professor at Canisius College in Buffalo, where she teaches special education to graduate students. She is a PhD candidate at the University at Buffalo. Her research interests include environmental rating scales for daycare centers and the study of play in children with special needs. Ellen also serves as a Captain in the US Army Reserves, where she puts her occupational therapy skills to use serving the children of the men and women who serve our country.



Shelly Lane: Project Evaluator

Dr. Lane holds a BS in Allied Health, Occupational Therapy from The State University, and a Ph.D. in Anatomy/Neuroscience from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, San Antonio. She has focused her clinical, teaching, and research interests into two areas: 1) infants and at risk for developmental delay and learning disabilities; 2) neuroscience applications to occupational therapy. Research areas have included development and sensory processing in infants born prematurely, and in infants prenatally exposed to substances of abuse. Dr. Lane's recent work has been with the "Let's Play!" Project, on which she served first as PI and then as Research Consultant. This project used a family directed intervention approach, focusing on play and assistive technology, to promote play and playfulness in infants with disabilities. Currently she is in the first year of a two year research project designed to fully investigate the intervention model developed through Let's Play!. Dr. Lane has published and lectured locally, nationally, and internationally on topics related to her research and areas of interest. In addition to her work at VCU, Dr. Lane has served as Editor-in-Chief for a series of pediatric books published by F.A. Davis. She is also second editor and author/contributor to the 2nd edition of Sensory Integration: Theory and Practice, published May, 2002.

Elizabeth Rebadow, MS,Ed.

Liz has worked as a certified special education teacher for the past 20 years. Her experiences have included developing and implementing programs for young children with a variety of special needs and their family's. Her 15 years in a pediatric medical setting has fostered her special interest in transdisciplinary evaluation and intervention with very young children with multiple medical and developmental challenges. Liz combines her knowledge family centered programming, child development and assistive technology to meet the specific needs of the children and families she services through the Let's Play! Project.
